Welcome to the official DJ Melee website! The DJ Melee is a showcase of the vinyl scene and nightlife in targeted U.S. cities. We hooked up with 8 record stores, 9 DJs and 3 clubs for a 2008 production in Austin, TX. In four contests over 3 months, BIGFACE of Starlynx and DJ DOJO fame reigned victorious putting away the final two contenders in an epic battle at Mohawk.

We highlighted 9 of Austin's best DJs who agreed to put it all on the line spinning and mixing 30 records in 3 ten minute sets via 2 turntables apiece in front of a live partying audience's at Austin's sweetest clubs.

3 DJs performed at each club and the best DJ from each club date advanced to the final week to spin again and determine the final winner of the Austin DJ Melee! Result - BIGFACE

Stacks of wax are about to be burned in a cross country tour of U.S.A vinyl. After Austin...Los Angeles, CA! The exact same format will be repeated in 2009 in L.A. and then we'll let BIGFACE and the best of L.A. go head to head.
